Flight Lieutenant Hannah was an Australian Cadet trained for the RAF and embarked for the UK on 9 March 1939.
On 15 December 1940, Whitley P5012 took-off from RAF Topcliffe to attack Berlin. On the homeward journey, the aircraft was shot down by a night fighter into the North Sea off the Netherlands Coast.
