Aircraft Accident (No. 455 Squadron Beaufighter aircraft LZ193), RAF Station Leuchars, 29 December 1943

No. 455 Squadron was in the process of converting from Hampden aircraft to Beaufighter aircraft. On 29 December 1943, five No. 455 Squadron pilots went solo while LZ193 crashed and burst into flames during a demonstration flight, killing both crew members.
