LEST WE FORGET

Air Operations (No. 464 Squadron Mosquito aircraft HR185), Netherlands, 4 November 1944

Mosquito HR185 took off from RAF Thorney Island at 2340 hours on the night of 3/4th November 1944 as part of a Squadron force of fifteen aircraft detailed to carry out night intruder operations against communications in Holland and north-west Germany. HR185 failed to return from the mission. It was later learned that both the crew members had been killed and they are buried in the Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery
