At 1000 hours on 20 June 1942 Manchester L7387 Scampton to carry out a search in an area 53.40N to 53.50N and 001.40E to 003.00E. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take-off and it did not return to base. Two bodies were later washed ashore. The remaining crew members were presumed to have lost their lives at sea and have no known graves.
