On 18 June 1941 Flying Officer Anderson took off in Hurricane Z3331 and was flying in formation on a Circus 14 until anti-aircraft fire and enemy aircraft caused him to break away. Z3331 was hit by anti-aircraft fire and was last seen at 1815 hours in the vicinity of Boulogne, France.
