Brother of Flying Officer Lindon Frederick Beves Barrett (422922)

At 1600 hours on the 5 December 1943 Wellington HF141 took off from Chivenor to carry out mine laying operations in the Bay of Biscay area. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take-off and it did not return to base. Following post war enquiries and investigations, it was recorded in 1949 that the missing crew members had no known grave.
