On 20 April 1943, Flying Officer Baxter was involved in a mid-air collision in which Flying Officer Peter Todd Read (407251) was killed.

On 24 December 1943, Kittyhawk aircraft A29-26 and A29-86 had a mid-air collision five kms south west of Bankstown during combat practice and both pilots were killed.
