On 25 June 1942, Hudson 4117 took off from Greenwood detailed to practice single engine landings during a routine training flight. The aircraft crashed at 1120 hours, 3 miles south west of the Greenwood aerodrome. Eye witnesses saw the aircraft go into a spin at low altitude prior to the crash and the crew of two was killed.
