On 5 December 1941, Harvard 3198 flown under instruction by Leading Aircraftman Brockhoff, crashed into bush at 1530 hours 2 miles north east of Tillsonburg, Ontario. The aircraft was returning to base on completion of formation flying. Pilot Officer Lawrence Charles Gooch (J/6178) (RCAF) (Instructor Pilot) was also killed.
