Pilot Officer Cale was an Australian Cadet accepted for training by the RAF and he embarked for the UK on 9 March 1939.
At 1850 hours on 15 August 1940, Pilot Officer Cale was shot down near Maidstone, Kent, and baled out but drowned in the River Medway.
