Halifax ME772 took off from RAF Pocklington at 1741 hours on the night of 4 November 1944, detailed to bomb Bochum, Germany. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take off and it failed to return to base. The aircraft crashed at Laudensberg, Germany, a village 4 kms north west of Aachen. and all the crew members were killed.
