Wing Commander Cameron is the first aviator from Australia to be killed on Air Operations in World War II. He was an Australian Cadet trained for the RAF who embarked for the UK on 18 December 1927.
On 28 September 1939 No. 110 Squadron Blenheim IV N6212 took off 0740 hours from Wattisham on a reconnaissance of the Munster area. The aircraft and crew were lost over Germany.
