On 6 April 1941, Blenheim V6023 was tasked for convoy escort duty and took off from Leuchars at 1200 hours in company with other aircraft from the Squadron. While flying at 200 feet V6023 did a steep turn to starboard and crashed into the sea off Pittenweem, Fife.
