On 10 March l941, Aircraftman Class I Carloss, a Trainee Cook, was admitted to No 1 RAAF Hospital, Laverton, dangerously ill from appendicitis and general peritonitis. He died of uraemia at 0315 hours on 5 July 1941 at No 2 RAAF Hospital.
