Wellington HE610 of 104 Squadron took off from Hani West Landing ground at 0016 hours on 29 July 1943 to attack Capedichino, Naples, Italy. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take off and it did not return to base. Following extensive searches in the Naples area when no trace of the missing crew could be found, it was recorded in 1948 that they had lost their lives at sea.
