Vengeance Aircraft No. A27-249 crashed while engaged in a Training flight and was totally destroyed.  The aeroplane was piloted by No. 426451 Sergeant Melvyn Lee Berthelsen, Airman Pilot with No. 415893 Flight Sergeant George Owen Crichton Navigator W as crew.  Both members were killed. Funeral was conducted at Karrakatta War Cemetery on 29/3/44.
