Awarded M.C. in engagement at Butte de Warlencourt (Somme), November 1916. Attached to Royal Scots (9th Div) in the Battle of Arras, 1917, and assisted in working captured enemy guns

The town of Robinvale (Robin Vale), Victoria, is named in his memory.
During a bombing raid to Perrone, France, on 9 May 1918, Lieutenant Cuttle (Observer) and Lieutenant George Arthur Leckie RAF (Pilot) (from Vancouver, Canada), flying DH9 aircraft C6094, were killed in aerial combat over Caix. The aircraft was last seen gliding down under control east of Bray.
