On 25 February 1918, Second Lieutenant Dempster (Observer) and Second Lieutenant Geoffrey Richard Thomas Marsh RFC (Pilot) flying RE8 aircraft B2293 went missing during an artillery patrol.  Second Lieutenant Marsh was taken Prisoner of War and was repatriated on 13 December 1918.
