On 25 November 1941, Tomahawk AN343 flown by Flying Officer Evans was engaged in a Squadron sweep of eight aircraft in the Sidi Rezegh area, Libya. The formation encountered about 60 enemy aircraft and AN343 failed to return from the ensuing engagement.
