On the 23rd November 1942, Blenheim Z7679 took off from RAF Nakuru at 0915 hours, detailed to carry out a navigation exercise. The aircraft crashed when the starboard engine failed in flight. It was considered that the Pilot probably stalled the aircraft flying on one engine in difficult bumpy conditions, and he had been unable to cope with the situation. All the crew were killed.

The crew members of Z7679 were:

Pilot Officer Douglas Frederick Button (126947) (RAFVR) (Observer)
Sergeant Herbert James Everett (406475) (Wireless Air Gunner)
Sergeant Frank Alfred Sinclair (401678) (Pilot)
Pilot Officer Lynn Thomas (145487) (RAFVR) (Screened Observer)
