On 25 September 1944, Kittyhawk FX664 was flying Green 2 in a section of 6 aircraft, detailed to bomb a road bridge. FX664 was hit by anti-aircraft fire and caught fire after a bombing dive. The aircraft turned on its back and spun in from 1,500 feet crashed 3 miles north east of San Savio, Italy, killing Warrant Officer Faria.
