At 0935 hours on 25 July 1945, Kittyhawk A29-118 flown by Flight Sergeant Frizell crashed about 20 miles and 255 degrees from Base and he was killed. During a training exercise on aerobatics, the aircraft apparently spun in and burnt on impact.
