On 14 October 1945, Leading Aircraftman Gallagher, a Wireless Maintenance Mechanic, was accidentally electrocuted on duty and died. He was erecting an aerial in the vicinity of the Wireless Section, and had attached one end of the aerial around an electric power plug in the section. When he pulled the wire clear of the ground, the end slipped and came into contact with a terminal of the main electric power supply.
