On 22 February 1945, Corporal Gregson, a Fitter II Engines, was taken ill and admitted to the Sussex County Hospital suffering from Meningitis. On 5 June he was transferred to the Hurstwood Emergency Hospital, Hayward Heath, and he died of a Cerebral Abscess on 8 June 1945.
