On 9 September 1942 Blenheim V5425 was one of three squadron aircraft detailed to bomb Akyab,
Burma. They were attacked by enemy fighters when off the coast in the vicinity of Akyab, and broke formation. V5425, which was not seen again in the ensuing combat, failed to return to base.
