On 4 March 1942 Blenheim Z7893 took off from Qasaba on a ferry flight to Landing Ground 116. At the Landing Ground, the approach appeared to be misjudged and the port wing struck the Officers Mess with the aircraft then crashing and bursting into flames. Flying Officer Harvie, flying solo, was killed in the accident.
