Lancaster EE119 took off from RAF Oakington on the night of 22/23rd November 1943 to bomb Berlin. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take off and it did not return to base. Post war enquiries by a Missing Research and Enquiry Unit established that the aircraft crashed near Rintein, which is about 50 kms south west of Hannover, Germany. All the crew members were killed.
