On the night of 18/19th November 1943, Stirling EJ113 took off from RAF Mildenhall at 1710 hours, detailed to bomb Mannheim, Germany. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take off and it failed to return to base. The aircraft crashed at Bussy-le-Chateau (Marne), 18 kms north east of Chalons-sur-Marne, France. All the crew were killed.
