Flight Lieutenant Kennedy was an Australian Cadet trained for the RAF who embarked for the UK on 17 July 1937.
On 13 July 1940, Hurricane P2950 crashed at 1520 hours in the South Downs while avoiding High Tension cables. Flight Kennedy had been on patrol and was returning from a successful combat with a Do 17 of 2(F)/123 off Chesil Beach, Dorset.
