A Missing Research & Enquiry team (Central Mediterranean Area) report stated “On 24 November 1943 Wellington LN466 crashed into a mountain three miles west of Issime, which is approximately 70 miles north west of Milan, Italy. The aircraft was smashed into small pieces but one complete engine from the aircraft was found. All the crew were killed.”
