On 25 March 1947, Mosquito A52-607 was reported missing on a travel flight from Canberra to Garbutt, Queensland. It was last reported over Home Hill in conditions of poor visibility. The wreck of the aircraft was later found on Saddle Mountain, twenty miles south east of Townsville, and the crew members had been killed in the crash.
