On 12 August 1917, Second Lieutenant Lasker resigned from the Australian Army and accepted a Commission in the British Army.
On 20 May 1918, Second Lieutenant Lasker (Observer) and Second Lieutenant Albert Henry Herring RAF (Pilot), flying DH4 aircraft D9239, were believed to have been hit by anti-aircraft fire during a bombing raid over Aulnoye. The aircraft was seen to fall in flames from 15,000 feet and both crew members were killed.
