On 18 July 1942, Aircraftman Class I MacTaggart, a Clerk General, died in a motor cycle accident when the tyre of the machine blew out. Aircraftman Class I Lawrence Stroud Langford (12561) (Discharged: 29 May 1947), the passenger, was slightly injured. The accident occurred 3 miles North West of Deniliquin.
