Sergeant Francis Albert MARCHANT (16039), Fitter IIA, No. 4 SFTS, killed as a result of a collision between a motor cycle he was riding and an Army vehicle. The accident occurred at the junction of Great Eastern Highway and William Street at approximately 1835 hours on 19 Feb 1943. Death was instantaneous. Service funeral conducted at 1100 hours on Sunday 21 Feb 1943. Padre Edmund Harrington NOWLAN officiating.
