On 19 December 1943, Flight Sergeant Marshall, a Wireless Air Gunner, was in charge of a truck on an organised bathing run. At 1700 hours he was injured when the truck overturned at Benjguema near Freetown (East) and was admitted to No. 51 General Hospital. He died of his injuries on 24 December 1943.
