At 1220 hours on 6 November 1944, Mosquito W4066 from Dyce crashed during non-operational day high-level photography exercise. The aircraft crashed at Bunkers Hill, Lincolnshire, 3 miles south east of Coningsby, when the starboard engine caught fire. Both crew members were killed in the crash.
