At 2240 hours on the night of 10 June 1944 Lancaster LM135 took off from Kirmington detailed to bomb rail facilities at Acheres, France. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take-off and it failed to return to base. A Missing Research & Enquiry team later reported: “The aircraft was shot down at Mareil-Le-Guyon, Montfort, L’Amaury, France, and all the crew members were killed.”
