On the night of 30 May 1942 Stirling W7534 took off from Stradishall detailed to bomb Koln, Germany. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take-off and it failed to return to base. The aircraft crashed in the vicinity of Monchengladbach, Germany, and all the crew members were killed.
