Wirraway Aircraft A20-127 crashed into the sea approximately 1945 hours while carrying out searchlight exercises. The aircraft reported to have crashed into the sea approx. 1 mile North-west of FREMANTLE into a depth of about 15 feet. Air and sea patrols carried out. Bodies not recovered but part of a human lung was found. A small portion of fabric presumably belonging to the aircraft was found. The crew were No. 415068 PROPERJOHN, Kevin Pemerton – Airmen Pilot (Missing believed Killed) and No. 406951 PAGE, Kenneth George – Wireless Air Gunner (Missing believed Killed).

Sgt. PAGE completed his Initial Training at No. 5 I.T.S., completed Wireless Course at No. 1 W.A.G.S. completed Gunnery Course at No. 3 W.A.G.S. and was then posted to No. 25 Squadron from 9/4/1942. Sgt. PAGE’s total Flying Hours were 78.50 (Day 75.35 Night 3.15) – On Wirraways day 46.10 night 3.15
