Flight Lieutenant Parker was a Battle of Britain pilot (No. 234 Squadron (RAF)) who was shot down on 15 August 1940 and taken prisoner. He ended up in Colditz. He continued to serve in the RAF in the post-war period and was killed in a flying accident in Tempest EJ859 while based at RAF Station Milfield.
