Wellington BK160 of No 12 Operational Training Unit was detailed to drop pamphlets in the Orleans area, France. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after it took off at 1907 hours on 19 February 1943 from RAF Chipping Warden and it did not return to base. Following post war investigations and enquiries it was recorded in 1948 that the missing crew had no known grave.
