On 11 September 1943, Leading Aircraftman Miller, an Aircraft hand, was shot by Aircraftman I Kenneth Gordon Harris (132890) at Aitkenvale, Townsville, and died the following day. Harris was discharged on 12 January 1944 and received a jail sentence of 5 years.
