Brother of Leading Aircraftman Laurence Francis Pickup (413419)

At 0015 hours on 4 June 1944 Boston BZ257 took off detailed to carry out a reconnaissance of roads to the east, west and north of Rome. The aircraft failed to return from the mission. The wreck of the aircraft was located later in 1944 and all the crew members had been killed.
