On the 7 May 1945, Mosquito A52-523 was engaged in a non-operational height test exercise near the aerodrome at Kingaroy, Queensland. At 0945 hours, the aircraft exploded while in straight and level flight and crashed 10 miles north east of the aerodrome. The crew of two was killed.
