At about 1150 hours on 27 May 1944, Wirraway A20-634 crashed at Island Lagoon, South Australia, and both crew members were killed. The cause of the crash is unknown. The aircraft was on a ferry flight from RAAF Station Laverton to Strauss Airfield, Northern Territory. The crew members of A20-634 were:
