Lancaster ND 328 took off from RAF Grimsby at 2216 hours on the night of 24/25 April1944 detailed to bomb Karlsruhe, Germany. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take off and it failed to return to base. The aircraft crashed near St Martens- Voeren, (Liege), 21kms north east of Liege, Belgium and all the crew members were killed.
