On 25 October 1944, Kittyhawk A29-821 flown by Flying Officer Summons was one of four aircraft engaged in a bombing and strafing attack in the Manokwari area of Dutch New Guinea. The Section approached the target at a height of 8,000 feet and was led by A29-821. When the section was in a position to make a bombing run, A29-821 entered a large cloud but the remainder of the section did not follow and the aircraft was not seen again.
