On 26 February 1944, Flight Sergeant Taylor was injured in an aircraft accident in which Flight Sergeant William Victor Manuel (401986) was killed.

Lancaster ND695 of 630 Squadron took off from RAF East Kirkby at 2238 hours on 22 May 1944 to attack a target at Brunswick, Germany. Nothing further was heard of the aircraft or crew.
