Hampden AE352 took off from RAF Swinderby at 1720 hours on the night of 21/22nd January 1942 to bomb harbour installations at Emden, Germany. Nothing was heard from the aircraft after take-off and it failed to return to base. Four of the Squadron aircraft took part in the raid and two of these including AE352 did not return. No trace of the missing aircraft or crew could be found following post war searches and enquiries and the crew are listed as missing.
