Detailed to carry out a solo non-operational flight, Oxford AS766 crashed at the landing ground at Hardwick Grange, near Hadnall, Shropshire at 1900 hours on the 2nd May 1945. The aircraft spun in the air, dived into the ground and was completely wrecked, and the Pilot was killed.
